Who is Kianna Alexander? |
A woman, a mother, a wife, and a self-proclaimed Southern Belle
She may not be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, but she can write a tall tale in a single sitting. Born in raised among the pine trees of North Carolina, Kianna has always been a voracious reader. Cereal boxes, billboards, and other unconventional sources fed her unquenchable appetite for the written word. Soon, as she entered adolescence, Kianna realized that she enjoyed writing the words as much as she enjoyed reading them.
The Writer's Journey Begins |
|
With a few potholes along the way.
First, Kianna tried her hand at poetry, but upon discovering it to be both sappy and crappy, she moved on to plays.
That was short lived, as she felt writing those darn stage directions both boring and maddening!
Around the dawn of the 21st century, Kianna decided to try prose. After writing that first short story, she never looked back.
What is the easiest genre for Kianna to write?
Romanctic suspense. To be quite honest, Kianna hasn't a clue why she settled on this genre. It just comes naturally. She admits to "sitting down to write a romantic comedy, only to have a villain show up on the screen."
What other genres does Kianna write in?
Mystery. Children's short stories. And an occasional review or opinionated article. But romance remains her favorite to read and write.

Who inspires Kianna's writing? |
|
Kianna is an avid Beverly Jenkins fan. She also enjoys works by AC Authur, RWA chapter-mate and good buddy Marcia Colette, and classic literature, such as Kate Chopin's short story "The Story of an Hour." And she still enjoys reading the back of the occasional cereal box!
